DBS Check Fees Reduced from 5 October 2026
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) has reduced its fees for DBS checks and the Update Service from Monday 5 October 2026, with the biggest reduction on Enhanced checks. Here's what you'll pay when you apply through A24Group.
What will a DBS check cost from 5 October 2026?

Why are DBS fees changing?
The DBS is fully funded by the fees it charges and reviews them every year. This year it has reduced its fees for all checks and for the Update Service, with the biggest reduction on Enhanced checks.
What do I need to do?

Apply through Staffshift as usual. The new prices apply from 5 October 2026.

Register it with the DBS Update Service within 30 days of the issue date. This keeps your DBS up to date and portable between employers, so you don't need to apply for a new one every year.

Agency applicants need an Enhanced check. Your consultant can confirm the right level for your role.
