Theatre Nurse Referral Programme Terms and Conditions

AT A GLANCE

  • You refer a theatre nurse who is new to A24 Group. You email the referral to referrals@a24.co.za before that nurse contacts or applies to us.

  • The nurse registers, clears compliance, and works 160 approved theatre hours through A24 Group.

  • You are paid through payroll: R1 000 if the nurse is a registered nurse, R800 an enrolled nurse, R600 an enrolled nursing auxiliary.

  • Theatre nurses only. ICU, ward, midwifery, paediatric, psychiatric and every other discipline does not qualify under this programme, and no partial or reduced reward is payable for them.

This summary is for convenience only. Where it conflicts with the clauses below, the clauses below apply.

1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

1.1 These terms govern the A24 Group Medical Staffing Theatre Nurse Referral Programme ("the Programme") in South Africa, operated by A24 Group Ltd., Registration No. 2004/017596/10, ("A24 Group", "we", "us").

1.2 The Programme rewards a person who introduces a theatre nurse who is new to A24 Group and who subsequently works for us.

1.3 The Programme is a discretionary incentive. It is not a contractual entitlement, not remuneration for services rendered, and forms no part of any employment contract, placement agreement or assignment schedule.

1.4 By submitting a referral you accept these terms in full. If you do not accept them, do not submit a referral.

2. DEFINITIONS

2.1 "Referrer" means the person submitting a referral, who must meet clause 4.

2.2 "Referred Nurse" means the theatre nurse named in a valid referral.

2.3 "Theatre Nurse" means a nurse registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) who works in the theatre complex in one of the roles listed in clause 6.2.

2.4 "Qualifying Hours" means hours worked by the Referred Nurse in a theatre placement booked and invoiced by A24 Group, supported by a timesheet approved by the client and accepted by A24 Group payroll.

2.5 "Qualifying Threshold" means 160 Qualifying Hours.

2.6 "Reward" means the amount payable for a qualifying referral, before any statutory deduction: R1 000 where the Referred Nurse is a registered nurse, R800 where the Referred Nurse is an enrolled nurse, and R600 where the Referred Nurse is an enrolled nursing auxiliary.

2.7 "Referral Inbox" means referrals@a24.co.za

2.8 "Programme Owner" means Cherry Murray, Lead Candidate Recruiter, or any person A24 Group appoints in her place.

3. PROGRAMME PERIOD

3.1 The Programme runs from 21 August 2026 until 28 February 2027, or until we withdraw it under clause 18.

3.2 Only referrals received in the Referral Inbox during the Programme period are eligible. A referral received one minute after the closing date and time is not eligible, and we will not make exceptions.

3.3 If the Programme ends while a Referred Nurse is still accruing Qualifying Hours, that referral remains valid for 6 months from the Referred Nurse's first shift, provided the referral itself was submitted during the Programme period.

4. WHO MAY REFER

4.1 To submit a valid referral you must, at the date of submission and again at the date of payment:

  • be 18 years or older;

  • be registered on the A24 Group nursing database and compliant with our document requirements;

  • have worked at least one shift through A24 Group in the 12 months preceding the referral, or hold a current permanent placement through us;

  • have current, correct banking, tax and contact details on file with us; and

  • not be subject to an open disciplinary process, suspension, or a client-imposed restriction.

4.2 One Referrer per referral. Joint, shared or split claims are not accepted, and we will not divide a Reward between two people who both say they made the introduction.

5. WHO MAY NOT REFER

5.1 The following are excluded from the Programme and any referral they submit is void:

  • employees, directors, contractors and agents of A24 Group or any A24 Group company whose role includes recruitment, resourcing, sourcing, bookings, staffing coordination or business development;

  • any person who obtained the Referred Nurse's details through their work at A24 Group or through access to our systems, database or client records;

  • any person who obtained the Referred Nurse's details from a client's records, rosters, staff lists or internal systems;

  • employees of a client of A24 Group acting in the course of their duties, where a referral would place them in conflict with their employer;

  • any competing agency, labour broker or their staff; and

  • the Referred Nurse themselves. You cannot refer yourself, and you cannot arrange for someone to refer you.

5.2 Nothing in this Programme authorises anyone to approach, solicit or recruit staff employed directly by an A24 Group client at that client's premises or using that client's information. Doing so is a breach of these terms and may also breach your own obligations to that client.

6. WHO MAY BE REFERRED: THEATRE ONLY

6.1This Programme is limited to theatre nurses. No other discipline qualifies, in whole or in part, at any reduced rate, in any province, at any time during the Programme period.

6.2 A Referred Nurse qualifies only if they hold current SANC registration or enrolment in the RN, EN or ENA category, and are placed by us in one of the following theatre roles, within the scope of practice for their category:

  • Scrub nurse

  • Floor / circulating (scout) nurse

  • Anaesthetic nurse

  • Recovery / post-anaesthetic care (PACU) nurse

  • CSSD / sterile services

  • Theatre unit manager or theatre shift leader

6.3 The Referred Nurse must be new to A24 Group. They do not qualify if, at the date the referral is received, they:

  • are already on our database in any category;

  • have applied to, registered with, or been interviewed by us in the preceding 12 months;

  • have previously worked a shift or held a placement through us;

  • are already in our sourcing pipeline, including any candidate we have contacted, advertised to, shortlisted or received a CV for; or

  • were introduced to us by another Referrer whose valid referral we received first.

6.4 Our database and applicant records are the sole record of whether a nurse is new to us. If our records show prior contact, the referral is not eligible, whatever the Referrer believed at the time.

6.5 The Reward payable is set by the Referred Nurse's SANC category as recorded on our database at the date the Qualifying Threshold is met, registered nurse, enrolled nurse, or enrolled nursing auxiliary. It is not set by the role they are booked into, the rate they are paid, the unit they work in, or what the Referrer believed their category to be.

6.6 If a Referred Nurse upgrades their SANC category after their first shift, the Reward is calculated on the category recorded at the date the Qualifying Threshold is met. We will not recalculate a Reward already paid.

7. NON-QUALIFYING REFERRALS

7.1 For absolute clarity, no Reward is payable, and no partial, pro-rata or goodwill payment will be made, for referrals of: ICU, high care and NICU nurses; general ward, medical or surgical nurses; emergency and trauma nurses; midwives and labour ward nurses; paediatric nurses; psychiatric and mental health nurses; renal and dialysis nurses; oncology nurses; frail care, step-down and rehabilitation nurses; home-based and private duty nurses; occupational health and clinic sisters; carers and other non-registered support staff, who cannot qualify in any event because a Referred Nurse must hold SANC registration or enrolment; and administrative, case management or non-clinical staff. Enrolled nurses and enrolled nursing auxiliaries do qualify, at the rates in clause 12.1, but only where they work in a theatre role listed in clause 6.2.

7.2 A referred nurse who holds theatre experience but who is placed by us in a non-theatre role does not generate a Reward, because Qualifying Hours are theatre hours only (clause 11).

7.3 We may, at our sole discretion, run separate referral campaigns for other disciplines at a later date. Those campaigns will have their own terms and will not apply retrospectively to referrals made under this Programme.

8. HOW TO SUBMIT A REFERRAL

8.1 A referral is only valid if it is emailed to referrals@a24.co.za. Referrals made by WhatsApp, telephone, social media, in person, to an individual consultant's inbox, or through any other channel are not valid and create no claim, even if the nurse subsequently registers and works.

8.2 Use the subject line: THEATRE REFERRAL - [Referrer surname] - [Referred Nurse surname].

8.3 The email must contain all of the following. An incomplete referral is not a valid referral:

  • your full name, ID number and contact number;

  • the Referred Nurse's full name, contact number and email address;

  • the Referred Nurse's theatre role from clause 6.2, their SANC category (RN, EN or ENA) and their province;

  • confirmation that the Referred Nurse has consented to the referral (clause 9); and

  • the date on which you obtained that consent.

8.4 The referral must reach the Referral Inbox before the Referred Nurse contacts us, applies to us, or is contacted by us. A referral submitted after that point is not eligible, and we do not accept retrospective claims.

8.5 We aim to acknowledge every valid referral within 2 working days and to issue a reference number. If you do not receive an acknowledgement, assume the referral was not received and resubmit. An unacknowledged referral is not evidence of a claim.

8.6 The date and time the email is received in the Referral Inbox, as recorded by our mail system, is the only evidence of when a referral was made. Screenshots, sent-items records and recollections are not.

9. CONSENT, PRIVACY AND POPIA

9.1 You must obtain the Referred Nurse's express consent before submitting their personal information to us. Referring someone without their knowledge is a breach of these terms and of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

9.2 Do not send us a nurse's personal information that you obtained from a client's records, a facility roster, a staff WhatsApp group used for operational purposes, or any system you access in the course of your work.

9.3 We process referral information to operate the Programme, verify eligibility and pay Rewards. We retain referral records for 7 years for audit and tax purposes and then delete them. Our full privacy notice is at https://www.a24group.com/privacy-policy

9.4 The Referred Nurse may ask us at any time to delete their information and withdraw from the process. If they do, the referral lapses and no Reward becomes payable.

9.5 We will tell the Referred Nurse who referred them unless you ask us in the referral email not to. We cannot guarantee anonymity where the Referred Nurse works it out independently.

10. DUPLICATE AND COMPETING REFERRALS

10.1 Where two or more people refer the same nurse, the Reward is payable only to the Referrer whose valid, complete referral reached the Referral Inbox first.

10.2 An earlier incomplete referral does not hold a place in the queue. A later complete referral beats it.

10.3 A valid referral is exclusive to that Referrer for 6 months from the date of receipt. After 6 months, if the Referred Nurse has not registered with us, the referral lapses and another person may refer them.

10.4 Only one Reward is payable per Referred Nurse, ever, regardless of how many times that nurse leaves and returns to our database.

11. QUALIFYING CRITERIA: THE 160 HOURS

11.1 The Reward becomes payable only once all of the following are true:

  • the referral was valid under clauses 3 to 10;

  • the Referred Nurse has registered with A24 Group and cleared compliance in full;

  • the Referred Nurse has worked 160 Qualifying Hours; and

  • the Referrer remains eligible under clause 4 at the date of payment.

11.2 Qualifying Hours are theatre hours only, worked on placements booked and invoiced by A24 Group, and evidenced by timesheets approved by the client and accepted by our payroll.

11.3 The following are excluded from Qualifying Hours: cancelled shifts; shifts the Referred Nurse did not attend; unapproved, disputed or unpaid timesheets; induction, training, travel and standby time unless paid as worked theatre hours; hours worked in any non-theatre role; hours worked through another agency or directly for a client; and hours worked before the referral was received.

11.4 The 160 Qualifying Hours must be accrued within 6 months of the Referred Nurse's first shift. Hours accrued after that period do not count and the referral lapses.

11.5 Our payroll and timesheet records are the sole record of Qualifying Hours.

12. THE REWARD

12.1 The Reward per qualifying referral is R1 000 where the Referred Nurse is a registered nurse, R800 where the Referred Nurse is an enrolled nurse, and R600 where the Referred Nurse is an enrolled nursing auxiliary. All amounts are gross. Each is a fixed amount and is not negotiable, not pro-rated, and not increased for hard-to-fill roles, provinces or shift patterns.

12.2 There is no limit on the number of separate qualifying referrals you may make.

12.3 The Reward has no cash alternative other than the payment described in clause 13, and cannot be transferred, ceded or exchanged.

12.4 Every tier requires the same 160 Qualifying Hours. A lower-tier referral is not paid earlier, at a lower threshold, or in instalments.

13. PAYMENT

13.1 Payment is made through payroll, into the bank account we hold on file for you, in the second payroll run after the Programme Owner confirms that the Qualifying Threshold has been met and verified.

13.2 The Reward is a gross amount. A24 Group will deduct any tax or statutory amount it is required by law to deduct. You are responsible for your own tax position, and we do not give tax advice.

13.3 We cannot pay a Reward into a third party's account, and we will not pay in cash.

13.4 If your banking or tax details are missing or incorrect, payment is suspended until you correct them. If they remain uncorrected 6 months after the Reward became payable, the Reward is forfeited.

13.5 A Reward that has become payable is still paid if you have since left our database, provided you were eligible on the date the Qualifying Threshold was met and you give us valid banking details.

14. DISQUALIFICATION, FRAUD AND RECOVERY

14.1 We may reject a referral, withhold a Reward, or remove a person from the Programme entirely where we reasonably believe there has been:

  • false, misleading or incomplete information in a referral;

  • a referral submitted without the Referred Nurse's consent;

  • use of client or A24 Group data to source referrals;

  • collusion, self-referral, referral through a proxy or family member to disguise the true Referrer, or any arrangement designed to create an artificial claim;

  • pressure, inducement or misrepresentation used on the Referred Nurse; or

  • any conduct that damages a client relationship or A24 Group's reputation.

14.2 Where a Reward has been paid and we later establish that the referral was not valid, we may recover the amount, including by deduction from any future amount owing to you, to the extent the law permits, or by claiming it as a debt.

14.3 Suspected fraud may be reported to the relevant authority and to the affected client.

15. NO GUARANTEE AND NO EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP

15.1 A referral does not guarantee that the Referred Nurse will be registered, cleared, booked or placed. All sourcing and placement decisions remain ours alone, and we are not obliged to explain them.

15.2 Participation in the Programme does not make you an employee, agent, recruiter, partner or representative of A24 Group. You may not hold yourself out as recruiting on our behalf, advertise on our behalf, or use our name, logo or branding without our prior written permission.

15.3 The Reward is not remuneration for work performed and does not form part of your earnings for the purposes of leave pay, notice pay, severance or any benefit calculation.

16. CLIENT AND FACILITY REFERRALS ARE SEPARATE

16.1 Referring a hospital, clinic, surgical centre, frail care facility, retirement estate or private patient to us is a different programme with different terms, a different reward and a different process. Nothing in this document applies to it.

16.2 To obtain the client referral terms, email referrals@a24.co.za with the subject line CLIENT REFERRAL, or reply to any A24 Group newsletter using that subject line. Do not submit a client or facility referral before you have received and read those terms.

17. QUERIES, DISPUTES AND ADJUDICATION

17.1 All queries and disputes go to referrals@a24.co.za, marked FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE PROGRAMME OWNER.

17.2 A dispute must be raised within 30 days of the decision or payment complained of. After 30 days the matter is closed.

17.3 The Programme Owner decides all questions of eligibility, validity, priority between competing referrals, and whether the Qualifying Threshold has been met. Her decision is final.

17.4 Where the Programme Owner has a personal interest in a referral, the decision is escalated to Mr. T Olivier, Compliance Systems & Operations Lead.

18. CHANGES, SUSPENSION AND WITHDRAWAL

18.1 We may amend, suspend or withdraw the Programme at any time, for any reason, by publishing an updated version of these terms and notifying participants by email.

18.2 A change does not affect a referral already submitted and validated before the change takes effect. That referral is assessed under the version of these terms in force when it was received.

18.3 The version in force is the one published here. Keep your copy, but ours governs.

19. GOVERNING LAW

19.1 These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate's Court having jurisdiction.

19.2 If any clause is found to be unenforceable, the rest of these terms continue to apply.

20. ACCEPTANCE

20.1 Submitting a referral to referrals@a24.co.za confirms that you have read, understood and accepted these terms, and that the information in your referral is true and complete.
